Universal Karuna Reiki (UKR)

Karuna is a Sanskrit word, one of its translations is "compassionate action".

Universal Karuna feels different to Usui Reiki. The energy feels much stronger, more powerful yet it is still gentle.  When you work this energy you can really feel it encompassing you, surrounding your aura working with all the energy bodies at the same time.  Whereas with the Usui Reiki the energy feels more directed through you.  UKR heightens your vibrational level, the energy is inter-dimensional and transforming.  You will feel full of love and light for all beings and students often report more experiences with angels and guides after receiving attunements.

The Karuna system was developed by William Rand.  The symbols used were channelled by a group of Reiki Masters.  UKR is not a religion and can be given or taught to anyone.  You must first be an Usui Master Healer before you can go on to be attuned to UKR.

During times of extreme stress we develop methods of coping that become encoded into our mental, emotional and physical bodies. When ever a similar stressful situation arises, the body wants to respond by repeating the earlier patterns. These patterns are known as somatic memories, which unconsciously control our physical body, from the way we walk to the way we breathe, and even how our injuries heal.

These memories can also be linked to repressed thoughts or emotions. As Universal Karuna Reiki assists us in recognising these feelings, thoughts or beliefs, we can come to a point where we are ready and willing to release them at a cellular level.

UKR allows the body to gently untangle the memories it carries and with each application old patterns are released. Through the essence of universal compassion, a foundation for new healthy patterns is created.

Universal Karuna works in the same way as Usui Reiki but on a much deeper level.
